AYABE
Ayabe is located in the mountains of rural Kyoto prefecture. This location is ideal if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere and you want to enjoy some rural life experience. If you visit in summer time, try not to miss the Ayabe Minatsuki Festival, a festival dating back to the Meiji Era (1868-1912), when about 10,000 floating lanterns are sent down on a river to honour the locals' ancestors.
